29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) On September 7, 2017, an employee was observed working in a trench measured at seven (7) feet six (6) inches in depth and was not protected from a cave-ins. Pappas Company, LTD was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1241096, citation 1, item 2, and was affirmed as a final order on August 23, 2017, with respect to a worksite located at 1539 Rand Road, Des Plaines, Illinois. Pappas Company, LTD was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 992291, citation 2, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on February 5, 2015, with respect to a worksite located at 595 Lincoln, Winnetka, Illinois.
