29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times Visitor's Center, Classroom: On or about 11 October 2017 and times prior thereto, three (3) emergency exit lights were inoperative. This exposed employees to delays in exiting the building resulting in smoke inhalation and fire hazards. The Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.37(a)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 987537, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 05 September 2014, with respect to a workplace located at Girdwood.
