29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about October 27, 2017: two sub-contracted employees were observed installing floor joist trusses while walking on the wall top plate employees were not protected by guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure. Employees were exposed to a 10-feet fall hazard. Varanda Group Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1165718, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 13, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 301 South Myrtle Ave New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(3): Each employee in a hoist area was not protected from falling 6 feet (1.8 m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about October 27, 2017: a sub-contracted employee was observed transferring lumber from a material hoist to a telehandler while standing on lumber at the opening not protected by guardrail system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure. Employees were exposed to a 10-feet fall hazard.
