OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards while using a gas powered handheld power blower on a wet roof to clean gutters.     a. 1423 Watching Ave., Plainfield, NJ - Second level roof     An employee was exposed to fall hazards and struck by hazards while operating a gas powered power blower (leaf blower) while standing on the integral roof gutters (Yankee Gutters)  at the edge of an inaccessible 10/12 to 12/12 pitch roof to remove leaves and debris from the gutters.  Yankee gutters are designed as an uneven surface and were wet from recent rainfall which could cause the employee to slip while walking along the gutters.                           Violation observed on or about November 13, 2017  Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning and General Contracting, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 951897, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on February 5, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 14 Grecian Street, Parsippany, NJ.
