29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who was on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems:    On or about November 17, 2017, at the above referenced worksite employees engaged in a steel erection activity while installing  commercially manufactured, structural grade, cold rolled metal panel formed into a series of parallel ribs as roofing material. The employer failed to ensure that all employees on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level were protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems or fall restraint systems. Employees were thereby exposed to falls in excess of 30 feet to the concrete surface below.     The employer, Konrad Construction Company, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1130498, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 24, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 1179 Central Park Drive, O'Fallon, IL 62269.
