29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation 5 feet depth or greater shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c): a) Employee(s) was exposed to cave-in hazard while working within a trench with vertical walls of 6 ft depth, 3 ft width and 30 ft length dug in the front yard of residential property at 664 Main Street in Fords NJ 08863. The trench walls were not benched/sloped in accordance with 1926.652(b); nor was any protective system such as shoring or shield system installed for during work. Condition(s) were noted on or about 11/28/2017.
