29 CFR 1910.106(e)(9)(iii): Combustible waste material and residues in a building or unit operating area were not kept to a minimum, stored in covered metal receptacles and disposed of daily: FINISHING INSPECTION BOOTH: On or about and at times prior to December 6, 2017, rags that had been used with acetone were disposed of in open, plastic waste receptacles. Acetone is a Category 2 Flammable Liquid. PCC Structurals was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1091666, citation number 3, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 14, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 839 Poquonnock Road, Groton, CT 06340.

29 CFR 1910.176(c): Storage areas were not kept free from accumulation of materials that constituted hazards from tripping, fire, explosion or pest harborage: MET and CHEMICAL LAB: On or about and at times prior to December 6, 2017, four (500-mL) bottles of 30% hydrogen peroxide, a strong oxidizer, were stored in a cardboard box inside a storage cabinet. The cardboard box is combustible. Fire or explosion can occur if strong oxidizers come into contact with cardboard. PCC Structurals was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1092969, citation number 1, item number 7 and was affirmed as a final order on March 14, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 839 Poquonnock Road, Groton, CT 06340.
