29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. (a) Geo Tech Environmental Equipment at 2650 E 40th Ave. Denver, CO 80205: On or before 12/1/2017, the employer did not require the use of or provide hand protection to employees who handle materials and cut tubing and twine on the extrusion line. An employee cut off the tip of his finger with a pair of heavy duty scissors when cutting twine. This condition exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards. One employee suffered a fingertip amputation.
