29 CFR 1926.502(b)(1): Top edge height of top rails, or equivalent guardrail system members, was not 42 inches (1.1 m) plus or minus 3 inches (8 cm) above the walking/working level: a) Job site, 2000 Pendleton Way, Route 228, Cranberry, PA: On or about December 13, 2017, during framing activities, the employer did not ensure that appropriate fall protection systems/devices were in use in that an employee relied on parapet wall framing as fall protection, where the top rail section was determined to be at least 48 to 55 inches in height, exposing the employee to a fall hazard of approximately 30 feet.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Job site, 2000 Pendleton Way, Route 228, Cranberry, PA: On or about December 13, 2017, during framing activities, the employer did not ensure that employees used appropriate fall protection systems/devices while working near the edge of the roof, where a fall hazard of approximately 30 feet existed. MW Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1169132, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on November 8, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 1102 Ohio River Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA.
