NAWS China Lake, Hall Memorial Lanes: Specific energy control procedures were not developed or utilized for the control of hazardous energy when employees service bowling equipment such as a Harmony bowling ball return. Employees were exposed to amputation and caught in and between hazards. Certification, with date and method of abatement required. Certification of abatement is required by 29 CFR Part 1903 and is to be submitted within (10) calendar days after the abatement date.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. NAWS China Lake, Hall Memorial Lanes: Employees servicing bowling equipment such as bowling ball lift/returns were not trained on energy control preventing the employees from acquiring the knowledge and skills required to perform lock out. Employees were exposed to amputation and caught in and between hazards. Certification, with date and method of abatement required. Certification of abatement is required by 29 CFR Part 1903 and is to be submitted within (10) calendar days after the abatement date.
