OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from struck-by and crushing hazards: (a) On or about December 26, 2017, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards from suspended loads on the following underhung cranes: Crane #7, south bridge in the warehouse Crane #9, north bridge in the 80 foot bay The hoisting rope for each crane had kinks that were visible from the ground. The conditions were not noted on daily inspection reports, nor had the conditions been evaluated for appreciable loss of original strength or carefully observed as to whether further use of the ropes constituted a safety hazard.
