29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees were not protected by protective helmets while working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns. At the jobsite, employees were not wearing hardhats while working below other employees that were roofing a residential house, exposing employees to struck-by hazards from falling objects.

At the jobsite, employees operating Hitachi nail guns while performing roofing activities were not wearing eye protection, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by flying objects. Faustino Mendez, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1160158, Citation Number 1, Item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 2, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 3003 Reece Park, Mansfield, Texas 76063.
