29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical: (a) BASF Corporation, at 10601 Fulton Street, Brighton, CO: On and preceding 6/29/18, the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical. Employees used chemicals during production of construction adhesives in the Finish Mix area. A container, located in the mezzanine freezer, was labeled with the identity of the chemical and a NFPA symbol. This chemical was a flammable solid, self-reactive, and temperature sensitive. A NFPA symbol does not identify specific hazards, such as the aforementioned. This condition exposed employees to a chemical hazard.

Employees used chemicals during production of construction adhesives in the Finish Mix area. A container of pigment was located in proximity to a mixer. The container's label was illegible. This condition exposed employees to a chemical hazard.

Employees operated a Toyota model BFGC70U 14,000 pound capacity powered industrial truck to move "pots" of product, weighing approximately 4,600 to 5,400 pounds, in constricted areas of the Finish Mix area. The employer did not ensure that all employees received training on the operation of this powered industrial truck in the work conditions of the Finish Mix area when moving "pots". This condition potentially exposed employees to a struck-by hazard.

A "knockout" type junction box was suspended from a flexible cable in the vicinity of mixer "FM" on the Finish Mix mezzanine. The junction box was positioned adjacent to the mezzanine guardrail. The "knockouts" of the junction box were not protected. The junction box was not installed or used in accordance with its Underwriters Laboratory (UL) listing. This condition potentially exposed employees to an electrical hazard.
