29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):     a) On or about July 10, 2018; roof area; employees, were installing tar paper onto a pitched roof without fall protection and exposed to an estimated 45-foot fall to ground level.      The Sam's Home Improvement, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 950844, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 28, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 1428 Irving Street NE Washington DC 20017.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet); in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1926.503(b)(1):  The employer did not verify compliance with paragraph (a) of this section by preparing a written certification record that contains the name or other identity of the employee trained, the date(s) of the training, and the signature of the person who conducted the training or the signature of the employer and when the employer relies on training conducted by another employer the certification record needs to  indicate the date the employer determined the prior training was adequate rather than the date of actual training.  .  a) On or about July 10, 2018; porch area; the employer had not verified the fall protection training provided to  his employees by previous employers.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation
