29 CFR 1910.180(b)(2): Crawler, locomotive, and truck cranes constructed and utilized on or after August 31, 1971, did not meet the design specifications of the American National Standard Safety Code for Crawler, Locomotive, and Truck Cranes, ANSI B30.5-1968, which was incorporated by reference as specified in Sec. 1910.6. Crawler, locomotive, and truck cranes constructed prior to August 31, 1971, should be modified to conform to those design specifications by February 15, 1972, unless it can be shown that the crane cannot feasibly or economically be altered and that the crane substantially complies with the requirements of this section. On or about 10/29/2018, in the site work area of the Traffic Barricade Type H (TBH) form equipment located outside of the facility at 220 Cargill Road Connector, Macon, GA: The employer failed to ensure the swing brake and locking device had adequate holding power in both directions and did not prevent movement of the rotating superstructure under normal operation. The swing brake and locking device did not meet the requirement in ANSI B30.5-1968, section 5.1.4.2.
