29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    a)  Claremont Foods LLC, 5325 Monarch Park Place, Longmont, CO 80503: On or before January 22, 2019, employees operating a Global horizontal food mixer, model M1 GM-1-S, serial number 98-049, were exposed to caught in-between and amputation hazards when operating the mixer.  No guards were in place to prevent employees from placing their hands into the mixer as the blades were in operation.  An employee experienced an amputation of his hand when his hand was caught in the mixing blade.    b)  Claremont Foods LLC, 5325 Monarch Park Place, Longmont, CO 80503: On or before January 22, 2019, employees sanitizing a Global horizontal food mixer, model M1 GM-1-S, serial number 98-049, were exposed to caught in-between and amputation hazards due to the lack of adequate machine guarding.  The sanitization procedures included employees reaching in and scraping the mixer, and utilizing only the E Stop.  This condition exposed employees to caught in-between and amputation hazards.
