29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1): Abrasive wheel(s) were used on portable grinder(s) which were not provided with safety guard(s) meeting the requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1) through (c)(4): a) Granite department: On or about February 7, 2019, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards, in that a guard was not equipped on the Metabo WEV-15-125 HT grinder used by employees while grinding on granite. Kitchen Design Innovations, Inc., dba Kitchen Design was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1285364, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on May 11, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 1127 Cobb Parkway S, Marietta, Georgia.

29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of silica listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration: a) Granite Cutting area: An employee grinding granite slabs was exposed to silica at 57.0 micrograms per cubic meter with a permissible exposure limit of 50.0 micrograms per cubic meter during the 441 minute sampling period on February 12, 2019. The exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 39 minutes not sampled. b) Granite Cutting area: An employee grinding granite slabs was exposed to silica at 130.0 micrograms per cubic meter with a permissible exposure limit of 50.0 micrograms per cubic meter during the 449 minute sampling period on February 12, 2019. The exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 31 minutes not sampled. Kitchen Design Innovations, Inc., dba Kitchen Design was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1285364, citation number 1, item number 6a and was affirmed as a final order on May 11, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 1127 Cobb Parkway S, Marietta, Georgia.
