29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) Roof over the New South Entrance Lobby - Employees worked from the roof over the new lobby and hallways to lay brick on the exterior walls of the new LGI. The roof over the lobby had no fall protection systems along the south side, and employees accessed the roof and staged materials and equipment at this side, exposing the employees to the hazard of falling 14 feet 8 inches to the ground below, on or about March 28, 2109. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The employees had no guardrail system or personal fall arrest systems in use in this hoist area, exposing the employees to the hazard of falling 14 feet 8 inches to the ground below, on or about March 28, 2109. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
