29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. a) Warehouse - On or about April 3, 2019, the employer failed to ensure the exit route from the break room was free and unobstructed. The break room exit door was blocked by two (2) wood planks, exposing employees to hazards associated with entrapment in the event of a fire or other emergency requiring evacuation from the building, which include but are not limited to smoke inhalation, burns, broken bones, and lacerations.
