29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels is not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  (a)  The employer is failing to ensure that employees are protected from fall hazards of 6 feet and greater during roofing work.  This was most recently observed on May 31, 2019 when employees of Vargas Exteriors LLC were exposed to fall hazards while reroofing a recreation center building without fall protection.  The eaves of the roof were 14 feet above the ground on the south side and 9.5 feet above the ground on the north side.  The pitch of the roof was 6:12.  Abatement Note:  Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").  Vargas Exteriors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1274383 citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on March 13, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 8265 Stay Sail Drive in Windsor Colorado.  Vargas Exteriors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1258146, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on October 24, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 432 S. Gilbert Street in Castle Rock, Colorado.  Vargas Exteriors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1244762, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 29, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 1280 Peoria Street in Aurora, Colorado.    Vargas Exteriors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 991208, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on September 29, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 15480 W. 75th Place in Arvada, Colorado.
