29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning. Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a)On or about 7/16/2019 the employer did not properly reduce the PSI for the compressed air utilized by employees for the cleaning of themselves or equipment exposing employees to hazards associated with compressed air measured at greater than 30 PS1. Test Location C4 in aisle C was tested at 85 PSI. Test Location C17 in aisle C was tested at 75 PSI. Test Location E16 in aisle E next to Planer 3554 tested at 35 PSI.

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards from the missing/broken safety latches on the lifting hooks and Jib cranes not properly marked with the rated load markings. a) On or about 7/16/2019 located in the facility, employees were exposed to a struck- by hazard as a result of a number of lifting hooks missing the safety latches, such as but not limited too: 1. C17 lifting hook missing safety latch. 2. 50 ton cranes lifting hook missing safety latches.. 3. A403 lifting hook missing safety latch. 4. 10 ton crane broken safety latch on lifting hook. 5. A416 lifting hook missing safety latch. b) On or about 7/16/2019 located in the facility, employees were exposed to a stuck-by hazard as a result of a number of Jib cranes not being properly marked with the rated load marking. 1. A151 missing load rating. 2. A403 missing load rating. 3. A123 missing load rating.
