29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part. a. On or about July 19, 2019, located at 1398 Sunbury Meadows Drive (Lot 2025), an employees was installing siding on the exterior of a residential home from a pump jack scaffold without adequate fall protection, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard of 12 feet 10 inches. Sanchez Siding Services was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1356054, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 1, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 1288 Sunbury Meadows Drive Sunbury, Ohio 43074.
