29 CFR 1926.451(b)(1): Where the employer made a demonstration that a space wider than one inch was necessary between adjacent plank units and the platform and uprights, the platform was not planked or decked as fully as possible: a) On or about August 1, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing masonry operations on a tubular welded frame scaffolding were exposed to fall hazards due to the platform employees were working from not being fully planked or decked. Employees were thereby exposed to fall hazards of approximately twenty-one (21) feet six (6) inches to the ground.

The employees were thereby exposed to falls of approximately twenty-one (21) feet six (6) inches to ground below.

Joseph Birkenheier Tuckpointing and Masonry, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or equivalent 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1179143, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 22, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 950 Pleasant St., Oak Park, IL 60302. Joseph Birkenheier Tuckpointing and Masonry, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or equivalent 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1178911, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on December 22, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 766 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
