29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Proof Research: On August 7, 2019, and at times prior, employees were exposed to caught in hazards from rotating parts and struck by hazards from flying chips while utilizing an unguarded Drill Press #1 (Model #G0758) b) Proof Research: On August 7, 2019, and at times prior, employees were exposed to caught in hazards from rotating parts and struck by hazards from flying chips while utilizing an unguarded Drill Press #2 (Model #G0758) c) Research and Development Department, Proof Research: On August 7, 2019, and at times prior, employees were exposed to caught in hazards from rotating parts and struck by hazards from flying chips while utilizing an unguarded Drill Press #3 (Model #G0463). d) Maintenance Department, Proof Research: On August 7, 2019, and at times prior, employees were exposed to flying chips and objects while pressing fittings and bearings on an unguarded Hydraulic Shop Press (Serial #17070017)
