29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Machine Guarding. Point of operation guarding. Special handtools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided.    a) On or about September 25, 2019 an employee was injured on the line 5 band saw in the pork room while cutting pork butts. The employee was using the push block attached to the saw, but did not have a tool to help move the ends of the pork through when it was getting soft and instead reached to grab the pork and came into contact with the blade of the saw.
