Project  The employer did not ensure a safe means of access for employees engaged in steel erection activities.  Employees installing roof joists climbed the rails of the aerial lifts for access to the beams where they were installing the joists.  Violation observed on or about October 10, 2019

29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems:   a. 471 Blair Road, Avenel, NJ - ADI Marketing, Inc. Project  The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falls by use of safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems.  Employees engaged in steel erection activities worked from the I-beams without a means of fall protection readily available.   Violation occurred on or about October 10, 2019

Project  Employees engaged in steel erection activities were not protected from head injury by use of hard hats.  Employees worked in areas where there was a danger from falling objects were not wearing head protection.   Violation observed on or about October 10, 2019  SJK Steel and Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.100(a) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1330198, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on September 20, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 405 Route 77, Manahawkin, NJ, 08050

Project  The employer did not ensure that employees elevated in aerial lift baskets were attached to the basket using a fall harness and lanyard. Employees engaged in steel erection activities working from JLG and Genie aerial lifts and were observed wearing fall harnesses and were not attached to the basket with a lanyard.  Violation observed on or about October 10, 2019
