29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Janitorial Room (Deep Sink): Employees were working inside/outside facility with corrosives such as Pure Bright Germicidal Ultra Bleach and other hazardous materials such as Goof Off Professional Strength VOC Compliant and Perfect Field Athletic Striping Paint without an eye wash station in close proximity for immediate use for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes. Employees were exposed to severe eye burns or blindness. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1240147, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 12, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at Baltimore, Maryland.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. Mail Carrier Routes: Employees used Back-Off Dog Repellent to ward off aggressive dogs from biting employees during mail delivery on assigned routes. The employer had not provided training specific to the health and safety hazards of this chemical. Employees were exposed to dermal, respiratory and eye hazards. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1319403, citation number 1, item number 3, and was affirmed as a final order on September 18, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at Dickinson, Texas. 29 CFR 1910.134(k)(6): The employer did not provide the basic advisory information on respirators, as presented in Appendix D of 29 CFR 1910.134, in written or oral format to employees who wear respirators when such use was not required by the employer. USPS Custodial External Building (Front and Rear Parking Lots) and Loading Dock: Employees voluntarily wearing 3M N95 filtering face piece respirators during the cleaning operations that generated dust particulates were not provided the information within Appendix D of the respirator standard and were unaware of the limitations and hazards of respirator use. Employees were exposed to inhalation hazards. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1367892, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on February 26, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at Santa Barbara, California.
