29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:    (a)Heavy Construction, Inc. at 500 West Brian Street, Tea, SD 57064: On or about and at times prior to November 7, 2019, the exposing employer did not ensure each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six feet or more above a lower level was protected from falling by the use of a guardrail system, a safety net system, or a personal fall arrest system. Employees were installing trusses without a fall protection system. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 16 feet.    Heavy Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1319023, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on August 21, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 800 Dynamic Avenue, Harrisburg, SD 57032.
