29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point of operation guarding devices were not in conformity with any appropriate standards: (a) Press Department - The orange Pexto Shear had a point of operation guard that was not designed according to industry standards in that the bottom of the guard had a gap of one-half inch and was less than one inch from the shear's blade which would allow an employee's fingers to reach the point of operation. Feasible abatement of this hazard would be to follow industry standards including, but not limited to, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B11.4 Safety Requirements for Shears which requires a guard to be at a minimum distance of three and a half inches away from the point of operation for a gap opening in the guard of one half inch.
