Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.    The employer does not protect each employee from the hazard of falling by the use of fall protection systems.  This most recently occurred on November 26, 2019 on the job site located at 321 White Pine Way, Galena, Ohio 43021. The employer failed to ensure that three employees who were performing framing work from the roof of a new build residential home were protected from fall hazards while sheathing the roof, thereby exposing them to an approximately 12 foot fall hazard.  Alejandro Vazquez Gallegos was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1397321, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 20, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at Lot 73, 2635 Clemton Park West, Blacklick, Ohio.
