29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii)(B): The energy control procedures did not clearly and specifically outline the steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy. a) Lettuce Processing Area, Lettuce Line Inspection Conveyor: On or about February 1, 2020, an employee in the process of completing cleaning and sanitation operations to the company's food processing equipment located in the lettuce processing area, was exposed to struck-by and caught-in hazards in that the energy control procedures for the Lettuce Line Inspection Conveyor did not clearly and specifically outline the steps for shutting down and isolating hazardous mechanical energy.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed: a) Lettuce Processing Area, Lettuce Line Inspection Conveyor: On or about February 7, 2020, annual audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the company's machine specific energy control procedures were not completed as required. Energy sources used at the facility include; but not limited to electrical and pneumatic sources.
