OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that repair technicians were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards in the vehicle service area: a) Service Bay 17: On or about February 18, 2020, two workers performed maintenance adjacent to and under an vehicle elevated by a Rotary automotive lift that had not been lowered to the safety locks. Abatement Note: This condition was corrected. Abatement certification is required for this item to describe measures to prevent recurrence (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).

29 CFR 1910.25(b)(1): The employer did not ensure handrails, stair rail systems, and guardrail systems were provided in accordance with 1910.28: a) Supply room: On or about February 18, 2020, and at times prior, workers were exposed to hazards while ascending and descending a 44.75 inch wide stair system equipped with a removable hand rail that did not meet minimum height requirements and was not suitable as a stair rail system.
