29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.   On or about June 16, 2020, employees performing roofing installation at a residential single-family property were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 11.2' when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized.  The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(B)(11), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1460398, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on May 1, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 580 - 586 Spring Leaf Dr., Joliet, Illinois 60431.  The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(B)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1355751, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 21, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 326 Hemlock Lane, Oswego, Illinois 60543.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
