Employees using the gasoline-powered compressor were exposed to injury/illness from dermal and inhalation hazards from exposure to chemicals such as gasoline. The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of safety data sheets for the chemicals.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) Employees were exposed to chemical hazards. Employees doing framing work while using gasoline-powered compressor had not been provided training to recognize, evaluate, and control exposure to hazardous chemicals. Hazardous chemicals used at the worksite included but not limited to gasoline.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. Employees engaged in framing activities with the use of pneumatic nail guns were exposed to struck-by hazards. Employees were not provided with eye protection.
