29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Jobsite, back side of building: On or about July 8, 2020 and at times prior thereto the controlling employer, CSDI Construction did not ensure that its sub-contractor protected their employees from a fall hazard while working on the lower roof deck. A wire cable guardrail system was not maintained. The wire cable guardrail system did not extend along the entire, open edge of the roof deck. Note) Certification of corrective action is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.502(b)(1): The top edge height of the top rails, or equivalent guardrail system members, was not 42 inches (1.1 m) plus or minus 3 inches (8 cm) above the walking/working level: a) Jobsite, back side of building: On or about July 8, 2020 and at times prior thereto the controlling employer, CSDI Construction did not ensure that its sub-contractor protected their employees from a fall hazard while working on the lower roof deck. A wire cable guardrail system was not maintained. The wire cable guardrail system hung loosely and sagged down to and below the edge of the roof deck. Note) Certification of corrective action is required for this item.
