29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operators and other employees from hazards created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Steven Roberts Originals, LLC at 2708 Tower Road, Aurora, CO 80011: On and before August 4, 2020, the employer did not ensure that a conveyor belt on the Cake Pop Line #1 was effectively guarded, in that a guard that protected employees from a pinch point on a sliding pneumatic cylinder mechanism that controls and adjusts the belt tracking was not installed when employees operated the equipment. On August 4, 2020 an employee working at this station sustained a finger amputation when they inadvertently placed their finger between the sliding mechanism and a metal channel. This condition exposed employees to crushing and amputation hazards.
