29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.    (a) 6550 building, Baileigh shear model SH-5214, serial No. 121234: on or about September 2, 2020, the point-of-operation was not guarded at the rear/output side of the shear where the blade was moving to cut the sheet. Employees were exposed to blade caught-in hazards when working in the area to stack sheets and cut the end of the coil.    (b) 6550 building, Adira QIH-20060 press brake: on or about September 2, 2020, the point-of-operation was not guarded at the front side of the press brake where the ram lowered for bends because light curtains were bypassed. Employees were exposed to dies caught-in hazards when working in the area to form parts.    There is no abatement documentation or certification required for these items.
