29 CFR 1910.23(c)(9): Portable ladders used on slippery surfaces were not secured and stabilized. On or about 8/25/2020, an employee was permitted to use a portable extension ladder during the installation of overhead lighting in the Blend Area at Superior Dairy located at 4719 Navarre Rd. SW Canton, Ohio 44706. The employer did not ensure that the ladder was secured and stabilized for use on a slippery surface, which resulted in an approximate 8 foot fall and subsequent hospitalization of the employee.
