29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about September 4, 2020, the employer did not ensure that the pinch points associated with the part holder on robot cell 2G was adequately guarded. Employees were exposed to amputation injuries from the pinch points created between both the part and the ram when the foot pedal was actuated, as well as the part and the clamp when removing the part under pressure.
