29 CFR 1910.145(c)(3):Safety instruction sign(s) were not used where there was a need for general instructions and suggestions relative to safety measure(s): a) Mozzarella Packaging, line #11: On September 25, 2020 and at times prior thereto, safety warning signs were not maintained on the framework of line 11 "S" conveyor. Signs, in a language all workers can understand, were not present instructing workers to keep hands clear when running, and to lock out before reaching in to hazardous machinery. 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Mozzarella Packaging, Line #11: On September 25, 2020, during cleaning operations, a metal guard was removed from the conveyor take up mechanism(s), referred to as the "90 degree." A worker reached into the machine and was exposed to hand injuries. Note) Corrected during inspection.
