29 CFR 1910.28(b)(5)(i):(i) The employer must ensure each employee on a runway or similar walkway is protected from falling 4 feet (1.2 m) or more to a lower level by a guardrail system. Site: Southwest Airlines, Terminal 2, 10701 Lambert International Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri, boarding jet bridge. On or about March 22 2021, a worker who was transporting a traveler's pole vaulting pole to load on to an airplane was exposed to falling approximately eight (8) feet from the top of boarding bridge to the concrete ground. The bridge was not equipped with guarding nor the worker provided fall arrest system.
