29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i):The employer did not select and have each affected employee use, the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee(s) from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment: Building 23640: On February 2021, employees used a hand-held swish brooms, commercial paper towels, and cardboard boxes without personal protective equipment to remove rodent feces and dead rodents from various area in the stock room, outside garden center, and loading dock area. Employer did not ensure employees used personal protective equipment during removal tasks. Employees were exposed to dermal and rodent borne diseases such as Hantavirus.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: Stock Room and Retail Floor: Employees used ZEP 30, ZEP II, Clorox Bleach, and Quality Care disinfectants to clean surfaces, shelves, floors, and walls during rodent and feces removal activities. The employer had not provided training specific to the health and safety hazards of these chemicals. Employees were exposed to dermal and eye irritation hazards.
