Such programs would support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards, such as falls during job site operations, decreasing the probability of employee injury and/or illness.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) Wilmer Lengacher DBA Lengachers Framing and finishing on or about April 9, 2021, near the site location of 7120 Lighthouse Way, Perrysburg, OH: Six employees were observed conducting framing activities while working near a roof edge atop the second level of a new residential-type structure. The employer did not ensure that a fall protection training program was in place for employees that were exposed to fall hazards over six feet in residential construction. Six employees were exposed to a potential 25 ft. fall to the ground below while performing framing activities. No form of fall protection was in place.
