Location: Facility Procedures were not developed and utilized for employees who performed cleaning of the extruder/cutter of the #6 ingredient blending line while powered on and exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Location: Blending Room 1) The rotating cutter blades at the discharge of Line 3, Blender 6 extruder was not adequately guarded and exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards. 2) Employees working from Line 3 blender platform were exposed to inadequately guarded mixing blades of the ribbon blenders.
