29 CFR  1910.36(g)(2):Exit access(es) were not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points:  The employer is failing to protect employees from tripping and emergency egress hazards associated with having emergency exit route less than 28" wide. This was most recently documented on August 11, 2021 at Family Dollar located at 3040 East Pawnee Street Wichita, KS 67212. The East egress route located in stock room had an expandable roller conveyor system leaving only 24 inches of egress.

29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1):Employee(s) were not able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge:  The employer is failing to protect employees from emergency egress hazards associated with having emergency exits locked from inside using a pad lock. This was most recently documented on August 11, 2021 in the stock room of the Family Dollar located at 3040 East Pawnee Street Wichita, KS 67212. Where the employer is using a pad lock to secure the emergency exit doors from the inside. Instances of exposure include but are not limited to:    1) The West storeroom door was pad locked at various times during business hours from June 2021 through August 11, 2021. 2) The East storeroom door was pad locked at various times during business hours between June 2021 through August 11, 2021  Family Dollar Store was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.36(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1480377, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 05.24.2021, with respect to a workplace located at 181 Straight St, PATERSON, NJ 07501.  Family Dollar Store was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.36(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1366830, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 06.26.2019, with respect to a workplace located at 3552 Leavenworth St, OMAHA, NE 68114.  Family Dollar Store was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.36(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1341910, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 05.24.2019, with respect to a workplace located at 6113 Fairburn Rd., DOUGLASVILLE, GA 30135.

29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3):Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed:  The employer is failing to protect employees from emergency egress hazards associated with having an obstructed exit route.  This was most recently documented on August 11, 2021 in the storeroom of the Family Dollar facility located at 3040 East Pawnee Street Wichita, KS 67212. Where the employer allowed the following items to block and obstruct the west emergency exit door. Two six-foot step ladders leaned against the door and wedged in against the adjacent shelf unit.,  Two 60 inch long U-boats (metal carts) parked in front of the door, and a 5 foot tall 4 level plastic shelf unit with boxes of material and product stacked on the shelf unit.  Family Dollar was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1480377, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 05.24.2021, with respect to a workplace located at 181 Straight St, PATERSON, NJ 07501.
