29 CFR 1910.37(b)(5): Each doorway or passage along an exit access that could be mistaken for an exit was not marked "Not an Exit" or similar designation, or be identified by a sign indicating its actual use (e.g. closet): (a) On or about February 20, 2025 - Storage Room, an exit door was not marked "Not an Exit". Family Dollar Stores, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.37(b)(5), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1747271, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/27/2024, with respect to a workplace located at 19 Fitchburg Road, Ayer, MA 01432. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.

Labels were not affixed to all raw materials, mixtures, scrap, waste, debris, and other products containing asbestos fibers, or to their containers. The employer(s) did not attach such labels in area(s) where they would be clearly noticed by employee(s) who were likely to be exposed, such as at the entrance to mechanical room/areas. Note: signs required by paragraph (j) of this section may be posted in lieu of labels so long as they contain the information required for labeling: (a) On or about February 20, 2025 - Facility, the employer did not ensure that labels or signs were posted to notify employees of materials containing Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) and/or Presumed Asbestos-Containing Material (PACM). In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
