29 CFR 1910.176(c): Storage areas were not kept free from accumulation of materials that constituted hazards from tripping, fire, explosion or pest harborage: a) ARC Thrift Stores, 6500 W. 120th Ave BROOMFIELD, CO 80020: On 12/2/2021, the employer did not ensure that areas utilized for the storage and separation in the production area were free from hazards associated with the accumulation of materials. In the southeast corner of the area, an incandescent lamp was lighted and in close proximity to flammable clothing. This exposed employees to fire hazards. b) ARC Thrift Stores, 6500 W. 120th Ave BROOMFIELD, CO 80020: On 12/2/2021, the employer did not ensure that areas utilized for the storage and separation in the production area were free from hazards associated with the accumulation of materials. On both sides of the aisleway in the production area, materials are stored in such a manner that could result in those materials falling into the walkway and exposing employees to a tripping hazard.

29 CFR 1910.146(c)(2):The employer did not inform exposed employees, by posting danger signs or by any other equally effective means, of the existence and location of and the danger posed by the permit spaces: a) ARC Thrift Stores, 6500 W. 120th Ave BROOMFIELD, CO 80020: On 12/2/2021, on the south side of the building, outside of production, a trash compactor is positioned. Employees were observed approaching the compactor to dispose of refuse without being informed by posted danger signs, or by any other equally effective means, that the compactor is a permit required confined space. This exposed employees to caught in and crushed by hazards.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(ii):The required working space about electric equipment rated 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground, was used for storage: (a) ARC Thrift Stores, 6500 W. 120th Ave BROOMFIELD, CO 80020: On 12/2/2021, the electrical panel located outside at the drop off area (south, outside of production) had merchandise carts stored directly in front of it, thus creating exposure of employees to electrical and fire hazards. ARC Thrift Stores was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 1910.303(g)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1519005, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 4/19/2021, with respect to a workplace located at 8100 Quebec St, Centennial, CO 80112.
