29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. 70 Better Way Chicopee, MA: On or about December 15, 2021, and at times prior, the provided methods of machine guarding to protect operators from the in-running nip point hazards on the line 5 winder were not sufficient to prevent employee exposure to the in-running nip point hazards posed by the vertical rollers on the line 5 winder.
