29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefore, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle: a. Pay and Save, Inc. dba Lowe's Mercado at 7305 N Pecos St., Denver, CO 80221: On or before March 31, 2022 the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from injury and directed employees to operate the Hobart Model 4246 Mixer Grinder without the use of machine guards. The hopper cover interlock on was not operating and an employee operating the machine was injured. This condition exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards.
