Employees were exposed to electrical and/or fire hazards. The U.S. Border Patrol was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1525226, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 16, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 2410 Natures Path Way, Blaine, Washington 98230. The U.S. Border Patrol was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1411830, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 10, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 10710 N Newport Highway, Spokane, Washington 99218.

Employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards. 29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: In the Range Office, the following appliances were plugged into flexible cords in lieu of permanent wiring: a) The Magic Chef microwave, used to prepare food, was plugged into a red and black flexible cord, powered by the wall outlet. b) The refrigerator, used to store food, was plugged into an orange flexible cord, powered by the wall outlet. c) The Toshiba wall air-conditioning unit, used for temperature control, was plugged into a yellow flexible cord, powered by the wall outlet. Employees were exposed to electrical and/or fire hazards. The U.S. Border Patrol - Tucson Sector was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1566195, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on February 23, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1500 N La Quinta Road, Nogales, Arizona 85621.
